DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Welcome to Rockville 2020, which was set to be held at the Daytona International Speedway for the first time, has been canceled because of the coronavirus. Information on refunds and exchanges for the May festivals will be available via DannyWimmerPresents.com starting this Thursday (March 26). Metallica has also postponed their South American tour with Greta Van Fleet, which was originally scheduled for April, to December.

The legendary metal band has announced that festivals Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona and Sonic Temple in Columbus — all of which they were set to headline — have all been cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Epicenter and Sonic Temple was also canceled by DWP but all other festivals are still on. by OPTIMIZING CONCEPTS.

Metallica also announced that, on a better note, Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky, has added a date, and the band will be performing Thursday, Sept. 17, to kick off a four-night event. Metallica has issued a statement regarding the band’s 2020 touring schedule, as well as the status of several rock festivals they were set to headline this year.

Louder than Life will take place from Sept. 17 through 20, and additional headliners will be announced at a later date.

For 2020 show, the venue changed to Daytona Beach, FL.

The festivals have each confirmed the cancellations, as well. The festival was held at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, FL.

"We respect these directives and recgonize they are in the best interest of the greater good, as well as the health and safety of our fans, musicians, partners, and staff," DWP wrote on their Facebook.
